Overview of Emergency Procedures

In the event of a major disaster, we have practiced how to respond to a variety of situations including minor and major injuries, power outages, fallen trees, facility damage, etc.  Please be assured we will keep the students safe until a parent/guardian can arrive and schools are designated as high priority facilities for support during emergencies.  In the event of an emergency, information and instructions for parents will be sent via our Connect-ED messaging system.  It is extremely important the office has current cell and home phone numbers.

Students will be released according to the permissions designated on emergency contact forms completed at the beginning of the year.  This may include releasing students to adults familiar to the students, and we keep records of who students have been released to for future reference.  As such, it may be prudent for parents to plan and discuss now with their students who they will be picked up by during an emergency.  Having an established plan now will provide comfort and reassurance should an actual disaster occur.
